Hi-Torque Dentalmechanics is equipped with the required test equipment to carry out your validation testing requirements, in accordance with current Australian Standards AS5369:2023 and industry guidelines.
What is validation testing?
This consists of a series of tests carried out on your equipment to determine if the sterilisation process is effective and can be achieved repeatedly.
What is involved?
The process can be broken into two components or 'qualifications' - physical and microbiological.
Specialised test equipment is placed within the chamber at reference points, instrument packs and known 'cold' spots, to measure temperature and pressure during test cycles.
Biological indicators are also located at these points and are processed on completion to confirm the sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10^6
When does it need to be performed?
Validation testing is required:
- on an annual basis (every 12 months),
- at new equipment installation,
- equipment re-location,
- if a repair has involved the replacement of a component applicable to the sterilisation process
- if there has/have been change(s) to the load types required to be processed.
