Hi-Torque Dentalmechanics is fully equipped with the required test equipment to carry out your validation testing requirements, in accordance with current Australian Standards AS5369:2023 and industry guidelines.
What is validation testing?
This process consists of a series of 'qualifications' to determine if your autoclave is installed and operates as per manufacturer specifications. It also verifies that the sterilisation process is effective and can be achieved repeatedly through a series of performance test cycles.
What is involved?
Equipment installation and operational aspects are checked, tested and verified. Specialised test devices are placed within the chamber at various points to monitor physical parameters (temperature, pressure etc) during test cycles.
Biological indicators are also located at these points to monitor microbiological factors and are processed on completion of testing to confirm the sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10^6.
When does it need to be performed?
Validation testing is required:
- on an annual basis (every 12 months),
- at new equipment installation,
- equipment re-location,
- if a repair has involved the replacement of a component applicable to the sterilisation process
- if there has/have been change(s) to the load types required to be processed.
